Here we are, just over two months later, and the WRX has finally left the body shop and made its way over to the Subaru dealer. It was supposed to go over there last week, but one last suspension part had not arrived, so they couldn’t drive it. I called Subaru this morning and they confirmed it was delivered yesterday.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I’m glad I called. The service adviser said they couldn’t tell where it had been wrecked and asked if it had been hit on the passenger’s door. I guess the body shop did a good job! Subaru will be replacing the headliner, passenger-side curtain airbag, and all of the sensors/modules. I asked them to inspect the suspension and drivetrain and take it for a spin to see if they can identify any latent damage.
To top it off, they sent me pictures!!!

Is the body shop not affiliated with the dealer? I’m surprised they didn’t attempt the airbag/headliner job themselves, and send the car over to get the light turned off/module replaced and programmed.

Ok, that was a little over the top. I’m hoping it’s just a reflection of the cardboard box and the low lighting. The insurance adjuster is supposed to inspect it with me when it’s time to pick it up. We’ll see what it looks like then.

The dealership is small, so they don’t have a body shop. The one I used prefers to send the potentially explosive jobs to their respective dealerships.

Sorry to break it to you bud, but if you look at ti from the indent in the wide body flares, right next to the taillight it is fully illuminated and it is a different tone.
It’s no biggie, just make sure they fix it and do a proper job, also make sure the finish on the doors is properly done as well...

NO.. I will not shut my mouth! As a fellow Subaru owner I expect the highest standards!
But yeah definitely inspect it yourself. I had to get my mother’s TSX resprayed twice because the body shop failed to blend the pearl white paint.

PAINT JOBS HAVE WARRANTIES? Why has that never crossed my mind... I will check and see what the condition is on the TSX considering Acura repainted it.
